How to screen record on Realme, OPPO and Vivo phones

· 6 min read · বাংলায় পড়ুন

Realme, OPPO and Vivo phones are everywhere in Bangladesh and South Asia, and all three include a screen recorder. If you've been wondering how to screen record on Realme, OPPO or Vivo, the good news is that the steps are very similar across these brands. This guide covers where to find the recorder, how to choose sound, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Realme and OPPO share a lot of software (Realme UI is based on ColorOS), while Vivo uses Funtouch OS or OriginOS. Menu names differ by version, so use the paths below as a general guide.

Screen recording on Realme and OPPO

Find the recorder

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to open the full quick settings panel.
  2. Look for the Screen recording tile.
  3. If it isn't visible, tap the edit (pencil or grid) icon and drag the tile into the active area.

Record

  1. Tap Screen recording. A floating control or countdown appears.
  2. Recording starts after the countdown, or when you tap the red button on the floating bar, depending on your version.
  3. Tap the stop button on the floating bar or in the notification panel to finish.

Settings

Long-press the tile, or search "screen recording" in Settings. On most Realme and OPPO phones you can choose:

  • Record system sound and Record microphone sound (separately or together).
  • Video resolution and sometimes frame rate.
  • Front camera overlay and Show screen touches.

Screen recording on Vivo

Vivo phones usually offer the recorder in two places:

  • Control centre: swipe down (or up from the bottom on some older versions) and tap Screen recording.
  • Smart side bar / shortcuts: on some models the recorder is also in a side panel.

Before recording, open the recorder's settings (search "screen recording" in Settings). Look for sound options such as Internal sound, Microphone or Internal sound and microphone. Pick the one your video needs, then start from the control centre.

Tip: On all three brands, the fastest way to find recorder settings is the search bar at the top of the Settings app. Type "screen record" and tap the result.

Choosing sound: voice, app sound or both

Your choice depends on what you're making:

Video typeSound setting
Tutorial with narrationMicrophone (plus system sound if the app makes useful sounds)
Gameplay with commentarySystem sound and microphone
Music or video clip demoSystem sound only
Silent demo you'll voice laterNo sound

For narration, speak 20–30 cm from the phone in a quiet room. Our guide on how to screen record with your voice on Android has more tips on getting clear narration.

Remember that system sound capture needs Android 10 or newer, some apps block it, and phone call audio can't be recorded by screen recorders.

Common problems and quick fixes

The recording has no sound

Check that the right sound option is enabled, the microphone permission is allowed, and the app you're recording doesn't block audio. The full checklist is in our guide to fixing screen recording with no sound.

Recording stops when I switch apps

ColorOS, Realme UI and Vivo's software can close background apps to save battery. If you use a recorder app, open its app info and allow background activity or set battery usage to "Unrestricted" (names vary).

The video is choppy

Lower the resolution or frame rate, close heavy apps and let the phone cool. See how to fix a laggy screen recording for more steps.

Notifications appear in my video

Turn on Do Not Disturb before recording. Read our guide to screen recording without notifications.

When to use a dedicated recorder app

The built-in recorders on Realme, OPPO and Vivo are good for quick clips. If you're making tutorials, product demos or lessons that people will watch carefully, a dedicated app like Cinematic Recorder adds:

  • Up to 60fps recording (60fps and 1080p+ with Premium) with resolution and quality choices, plus a countdown and live mic level meter.
  • Microphone and internal audio together, and a front-camera bubble recorded into the video.
  • Floating controls to pause, resume and stop from any app.
  • An editor with click-based auto zoom, cursor smoothing and spotlight, focus highlight, and export to 16:9, 9:16 or 4:5.
  • Templates for tutorials, product demos, app reviews and lectures.

It's free to start, and recordings stay on your phone. You can compare what's in each plan in the pricing section.

Practical example: recording an app tutorial for family

Say you want to show your parents how to pay a bill in a mobile wallet app. Use a test or demo account if possible, never your real PIN on screen. Turn on Do Not Disturb, set sound to microphone, and record yourself slowly tapping through each step while explaining. Keep it under two minutes. Afterwards, trim the start and end, and send it on WhatsApp so they can replay it whenever they need.

Before sharing any recording, run through a quick privacy checklist to make sure no OTP, balance or contact names are visible.

FAQ

Do all Realme, OPPO and Vivo phones have a screen recorder?

Most models from the last several years do. If you can't find it in quick settings or by searching Settings, use a screen recorder app.

How do I record internal audio on OPPO or Realme?

In the screen recording settings, turn on "Record system sound" (or similar). This works on Android 10 and newer for apps that allow capture.

Where are the recordings saved?

Usually in the Photos or Gallery app, in a Screen recordings album, and in the DCIM or Movies folder in the file manager.

Can I pause a recording on these phones?

Some versions have a pause button on the floating bar, others don't. A recorder app with floating controls lets you pause and resume reliably.

Whichever of these phones you have, set your sound option once, test with a short clip, and you're ready to record clear, useful videos.
